Lexicon

Pubs are Zizkov phenomena. There isn't one place in Prague where you would be able to find them in such a concentration. You may be choosing form luxurious premises, but class "four" pubs are not an exception as well. Each of them has its own charm and often also a stable clientele of barflies. And such as the legendary cellars in the Old Town, Zizkov pubs attract also visitors from other places. You will be able to find 60 carefully selected places on these pages. Some of them are not located directly in Zizkov, but are scattered very close by, and it would be a pity to simply skip them.

The numbers, which are below the main entrance photo, will lead you to the photos of the interior, the garden etc. The photos are NOT modified or improved in any way, as it often happens in many official pages, thus you can see, how is the place looking in real life and operation.

Recontento

	Recontento is a brand new restaurant designed in medieval times style. Prices are higher, but generally alright. My concern about this restaurant is its locality which is not very attractive.	PRICES:

Rock Club Kain

	Presently being refurbished. Normally there is a pub upstairs and a club with frequent rock concerts downstairs. Unfortunately, no cuisine.	PRICES:

Sedm Vlků (Seven Wolves)

	A renowned pub for younger generations, where you thanks to dim light and clouds of greenish - grayish smoke won't really see much. DJs play very loud music almost every night in the downstairs club and there are also almost always some cultural events happening. A wide selection of cocktails available.	PRICES:

Sklep (Cellar)

	A fleshpot opposite to Viktorka Žižkov, divided into a restaurant, a winter and a summer garden upstairs. A club for app. 90 people is located downstairs. When coming here, you will find a jukebox and a pool table, at present covered with a board and serving as the biggest table for 10 people. The place offers a wide range of wines and quality cigars. Suitable for business and social gatherings. I may be having just one rebuke, and that is the service, which sometimes limps a bit in swiftness and politeness.	PRICES:

Spirit

	A wide range of beers, including not so frequent tap Velvet and Kelt. The interior is laid in dark crimson with a huge red bar run by pleasant barmaids. For some entertainment you can play calcetto or sit in a little garden during hot summer night.	PRICES:

TV věž (TV Tower)

	If you want to drink or eat at a 66 meter hight, you have a chance. You can enjoy a trully beautiful view of not only Zizkov but the whole Prague from a red restaurant or a blue caffee at the top of TV tower. Due to the hight, the prices are also slightly elevated. Its actually one of the most expensive restaurants in Zizkov. And you still have to buy a ticket for an elevator to get you up. More information about the TV tower are here.	PRICES:

U České chalupy (At the Czech Cottage)

	A typical old Zizkov pub: heavy wooden tables, clouds of smoke, yellowed plaster, spotty tablecloths, same faces seen day by day... But with this you may also get very nice Czech food (goulash) for popular prices.	PRICES:

U Dudáka (At the Bagpiper's)

	A classical Zizkov joint with stable barflies. Wonderful food for popular prices, including specialities such as "Žižkaperk" or "Tatranské kuře" (High Tatras chicken), which are definitely a must. A little drawback is quite smoky environment in the evenings.	PRICES:

U Dvou hrabalů (At the Two Ditchers)

	A cult cellar pub recalling the atmosphere of the times long since gone. Posters and relics from before '89 arranged in an elaborate collage are part of this unique premises decoration. You may taste excellent food and tap Bud. This frequented place has usually many reservations for foreign tourists staying in nearby hotel Olšanka.	PRICES:

U Houdků

	The pub belongs to the same owner as U dudaka, which means cheap and delicious food most of all. The eating is either in one of two murky rooms or in a spacious garden in the backyard with a marvellous lookout on Zizkov tenement houses	PRICES:
