Lexicon

Pubs are Zizkov phenomena. There isn't one place in Prague where you would be able to find them in such a concentration. You may be choosing form luxurious premises, but class "four" pubs are not an exception as well. Each of them has its own charm and often also a stable clientele of barflies. And such as the legendary cellars in the Old Town, Zizkov pubs attract also visitors from other places. You will be able to find 60 carefully selected places on these pages. Some of them are not located directly in Zizkov, but are scattered very close by, and it would be a pity to simply skip them.

The numbers, which are below the main entrance photo, will lead you to the photos of the interior, the garden etc. The photos are NOT modified or improved in any way, as it often happens in many official pages, thus you can see, how is the place looking in real life and operation.

Kabinet (Cabinet)

	Used to be Babetka, nowadays a cosy pub with a marvellous interior decoration in hunters' style. Instead of watching a normal TV you can look at a wide projector screen, with Óčko usually on. The food is prepared on grill and it is absolutely marvellous. You may also wish to sit in a garden during summertime.	PRICES:

Království (The Kingdom)

	A place switching its owners probably the most often of all (Aqua-> Agony-> Lost World-> Kingdom). The interior is yet still very pleasant and relaxing: a huge aquarium (once with a very popular eel), Salvator Dalí pictures, TV. A speciality not to be found too often elsewhere can be tasted here- Kvasar, a Cerna Hora special 14 degrees beer with honey flavouring.	PRICES:

Kuře v hodinkách (A Chicken in the Watch)

	A restaurant with a very original name, visited my many tourists despite quite elevated prices. The restaurant for app. 30 people is at the sidewalk level, you may also choose to sit down in a beautiful and stylish bar. Music Bar or the Blue Lounge are located in vaulted basement. A lot of celebrities have visited this place, their signed photos are putting their finishing touch to the decorations.	PRICES:

Luis Cyphre

	A devilish place for all the Zizkov school age youngsters in larger neighbourhood. Crimson interior and the standard of local barflies may actually really induce the feeling of proper hell:) There is enough place for quite a lot of people, with darts and calcetto tournaments organised frequently. Merenda

	This ain't no cheap joint, but a modern Zizkov pub down at Konevova street. The premises are divided into two floors. The upper one can be seen on the pictures, but unfortunately I didn't have a chance to check out the lower one. I suppose you won't be waiting for too long...:)	PRICES:

Molekula (Molecule)

	A place visited in large numbers especially by members of the younger generation. Two floors: the upper one is for sitting with your friends enjoying a beer, the lower one is for playing calcetto. Calcetto tournaments also often take place here. The design of the interior is based on walls with graffiti sprayed all over, which is a quite an original idea considering typical Zizkov pubs. The only drawback is the straightway paying at the bar, which is unfortunately thanks to younger barflies necessary.	PRICES:

Morava (Moravia)

	Formerly a low class joint, now a new pub with painted interior in the style of the First Republic. A nice brick bar in the middle, tables for larger groups of people. A projection of sport broadcasting on a wall, painted as a fake old school "prehistory" TV. Czech cuisine specialities and beer snacks are available, and recently you may get your tongue burned on Krvesaj (Bloodsucker) served in a hilarious original test tubes just for 15 KC...:)	PRICES:

Na Křižovatce (At the Crossroads)

	Not so long ago this place used to be a spit box joint with very unfriendly staff just opposite to Palace Flora. Now it is a modern pub with nice interior and higher prices, where regrettably the only thing that remained unchanged is the same staff service standards. A big advantage is a garden, which is unfortunately located just next to busy crossroads, so the exhaust fumes are getting a bit too much under the skin...	PRICES:
